Frida Venus Nana Brooch
Frida Kahlo is one of my favourite artists, not just because she is a striking figure herself, but because of her deeply held political beliefs and her resilience as a person with disabilities. I've depicted Frida as a Venus Nana with references to some of her choices in personal presentation - her reclamation of body hair, the flowers in her hair, and her traditional Mexican dress.
My Venus Nana series of brooches reference art history from the earliest Venus figurines through to modern artists like Niki de Saint Phalle and Keith Haring. Their graphic boldness and voluptuous femininity are designed to empower you throughout your day as you wear them.
CARING FOR YOUR ACRYLIC JEWELLERY
Acrylic is hard but can be brittle and scratch easily, so don't get too rowdy while wearing your jewellery and store it somewhere safe. Don't wear it in water and avoid spraying perfume or other liquids on it.
