Please Do Not Perceive Me Tapestry Tote Bag

Scopophobia is the fear of being perceived, and ooooh do I know all about it because I have lived for my whole life with social anxiety. Like the woman on this gorgeous tapestry, completed by a talented stitcher who never got around to displaying it, I love wearing flamboyant clothes but the second anyone comments on them... my soul shrinks back from reality. This tote bag goes out to all my buddies who feel the same way!

The cross stitching and the way the tote bag has been sewn is non-destructive meaning every stitch can be undone and no damage will be done to the original piece. My nana was a tapestry stitcher and the craft has a very special place in my heart. 

You can carry around your precious things knowing that this bag is indeed a sturdy one and is fully lined with a press stud closure. The tapestry has a mitred border that I've lovingly hand-stitched - I've even matched the stripe on the straps!

I'm super proud of this bag and I had a great time embellishing the original needlework, turning it into a useful item that isn't hidden away from sight any longer.

Wool, cotton, polyester lining.

Cold machine wash with similar colours. Do not soak or bleach. Warm iron. Do not dry clean.

Wear me, care for me, mend me, pass me on to someone who’ll start the process all over again.
